Also known as shockwave therapy, this incredible technology helps turn on your body’s own ability to heal. Countless patients throughout the United States have experienced relief from Shockwave Therapy’s non-invasive treatment. The patented extracorporeal shockwave therapeutic device is utilized to reach an injured area at the cellular level to stimulate your body’s natural healing process. TRT can activate connective tissue, improve blood supply, reduce inflammation, and temporarily alleviate pain while recruiting and activating resident stem cells in the area. With Shockwave TRT, patients can avoid “going under the knife” and getting repeated cortisone shots. The first appointment is a $99 introductory session which we call a mapping session. We will do the initial consultation to learn about your health concerns and then perform your first Shockwave TRT treatment session. We will map out the area of concern and use the Shockwave TRT as a diagnostic tool during your mapping session to determine where our focus needs to be during the sessions.
Dr. Karl will hold the patented Shockwave TRT applicator against your skin to direct a high-energy acoustic wave that penetrates deep into the body. These softwaves are electro-hydraulically produced sound waves that exit the applicator at 3,355 mile per hour. This action creates a shearing force on a cellular level that helps break up scar tissue and remove oxidative stresses that have built up around the cell membrane. It tricks the body into thinking there’s a fresh injury without damaging the tissue, but helps activate an innate healing response on a cellular level. It also decreases inflammation and pain at the treatment site. When used over healthy tissue, there won’t be any discomfort. However, if you have an inflamed area, it will produce some discomfort, or what we call “pain with a purpose” because we have to “feel it to heal it”. Dr. Karl will then decide whether you are a candidate for Shockwave TRT and create a Complete Recovery Plan to provide you with long-term relief.
